AWS Textract is a cloud-based Optical Character Recognition (OCR) service that is integrated with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne (JDE) Software. The demo showcases the capabilities of Textract’s Query functionality, which was introduced in April 2022 and uses automated intelligence to extract information from scanned documents.
One of the key advantages of Textract Query is that it allows for unlimited queries with the OCR app. This means that clients using EASYProcess can scan thousands of sheets and achieve 100% accuracy of the extracted data. This level of accuracy is made possible by Textract’s ability to identify and extract text from forms and tables, which is demonstrated in the session.
During the demo, the EASYProcess platform is used to showcase different examples of Textract’s capabilities including:
- extracting data from invoices
- purchase orders
- other types of documents commonly used in business processes
The demo also shows how Textract can extract data from tables with varying formats, including those with:
- merged cells
- nested tables
- irregular layouts.
